Free Digital Flight Log for New Pilots

Free Flight Log

Hi all you new pilots (and some of you old ones who haven’t gone digital yet!)

I’m offering up an Excel file I’ve used for years that has helped me keep track of my paragliding flights.

For those of you beginning pilots who are living and flying in the US, you’re probably working on your USHPA certifications P1-P3. This Flight Log will automatically calculate your site and wing totals (along with the normal flight and time totals). This will help you keep track of what USHPA requires for your check-offs.

For all you other pilots out there, this may help simplify your log and give you a nice, clean digital copy to keep or send to others as needed.

  1. Or you can just upload all of your flights to Leonardo. All the stats are available across many variables and you’ll never lose it, even if your comp crashes, gets lost, etc…

    • All good points. I’m a big fan of Leonardo, especially to review my flight in a graphical format, but I use my Excel far more for the quick stats that USHPA instructors are looking for (flights at each site, flights on each wing, etc.).

The other benefit of an Excel file is that you can quickly and easily print or email it – this is great when you’re planning to work with new instructors or train overseas and need to send your flight log to someone.

There are lots of tools out there, but ultimately, I recommend using what you like and what you’re comfortable with. 🙂

  3. Hiya, I am really glad I have found this information. Nowadays bloggers publish just about gossips and web and this is really annoying. A good blog with interesting content, that is what I need. Thanks for keeping this website, I’ll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Can not find it. ekakkeeeakeg

    • I’m hoping to get a newsletter together, but lately I’ve been working on more equipment reviews. Thanks for the suggestion and I’m glad you are enjoying the content 🙂
